Managing Solaris PC NetLink Users with Solaris AdminSuite
With AdminSuite, you can manage user accounts that are both Solaris PC NetLink and AdminSuite accounts.
-
You must log on to a server that has both AdminSuite and Solaris PC NetLink installed and running.
-
You must have a logon name and password that exist in both AdminSuite and in Solaris PC NetLink.
-
Your Solaris PC NetLink logon name must have Administrative privileges.
To begin managing users in both AdminSuite and Solaris PC NetLink, open User Accounts in AdminSuite. Choose Action->Connect to PC NetLink Server. The name you enter in the Solaris PC NetLink field must be a server that has both the Solaris PC NetLink and the AdminSuite server installed and running.
Manageable User Properties
You can manage a subset of Solaris PC NetLink user properties through AdminSuite:
-
User name (which must follow AdminSuite naming conventions)
-
Password
-
User description
When both a Solaris domain and a Solaris PC NetLink domain are managed (by choosing Action->Connect to PC NetLink Server in User Accounts) you can:
-
Add new users -- who will be added as both AdminSuite and Solaris PC NetLink accounts.
-
Delete a user -- if the same user name exists in both AdminSuite and Solaris PC NetLink accounts then that user will be deleted from both.
-
Modify a user account -- if an account exists in both AdminSuite and Solaris PC NetLink, the properties user name, password, and description will be modified in both.
With this dual management, you will see:
-
AdminSuite users only (if they do not have Solaris PC NetLink counterparts)
-
All users with accounts in both AdminSuite and Solaris PC NetLink (but you cannot show Solaris PC NetLink users only)
