To Save a Web Site Address

When you discover a Web page that you'd like to come back to or think you might visit frequently, you can save the address of the page in one of the HotJavaTM Browser Places lists. This makes loading the page again easier than retyping its URL (Web site address).

To save the Web site address:

To revisit the site:

  1. Choose Show Remembered Places from the Places menu.
    This displays the Remembered Places window, where you can access all of your Places Lists. Lists appear in the top half of the window, and the contents of the currently selected list appear in the bottom half.
    The title of the page you recently saved (also called its bookmark) appears at the bottom of the New Places list.

  2. Double-click on the bookmark to revisit the site.
    Alternatively, choose the bookmark from the New Places list and click on the Go to Place button.

  1. Choose Go to List from the Places menu, and drag the pointer right to the pullright menu of lists.

  2. Choose the list from this menu where your bookmark was saved, then choose the bookmark from the second pullright menu.

To Manage the Places Lists

The HotJava Browser provides at least two lists at startup:

To move a bookmark from the New Places list to the Cool Places list:

  1. Choose Show Remembered Places from the Places menu.
    HotJava displays the Remembered Places window. The New Places list is selected, and the contents of the New Places list appear at the bottom of the Remembered Places window.

  2. Select the bookmark you want to move.

  3. Choose Cut from the Remembered Places Edit menu.

  4. Select Cool Places.

  5. Choose Paste from the Remembered Places Edit menu.
    Your bookmark is added to the Cool Places list.

You can also move a bookmark by using the mouse to drag it to a new location. You can drag it to another location within a list, or to another list or folder.
