HotJava Browser for Solaris Features
HotJava Browser for Solaris includes the following features:
- WebNFS

HotJava Browser for Solaris supports the WebNFS protocol in addition
to other protocols. WebNFS uses the following syntax to specify a web
page to open:
nfs://hostname:/path_to_document
- Desktop Messaging

When possible HotJava participates in HotJava Desktop Messaging.
This allows a single copy of HotJava to act as a server and
display web documents on behalf of other components of the
Solaris Desktop.
- SSL Support

HotJava for Solaris provides 40-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer)
and the Secure HTTP protocol using the https:
URL syntax.
This level of SSL encryption is legal to export globally.
- Solaris packaging

HotJava for Solaris is delivered as a Solaris package; SUNWdthj.
This allows the easy install of HotJava for Solaris as well as
easy integration into other products.
- All Solaris platforms

HotJava for Solaris is available Solaris 2.5.1 and later on both
the SPARC and Intel platforms.
