HotJava Browser for Solaris Features

HotJava Browser for Solaris includes the following features:
WebNFS

HotJava Browser for Solaris supports the WebNFS protocol in addition to other protocols. WebNFS uses the following syntax to specify a web page to open:

nfs://hostname:/path_to_document

Desktop Messaging

When possible HotJava participates in HotJava Desktop Messaging. This allows a single copy of HotJava to act as a server and display web documents on behalf of other components of the Solaris Desktop.

SSL Support

HotJava for Solaris provides 40-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and the Secure HTTP protocol using the https: URL syntax. This level of SSL encryption is legal to export globally.

Solaris packaging

HotJava for Solaris is delivered as a Solaris package; SUNWdthj. This allows the easy install of HotJava for Solaris as well as easy integration into other products.

All Solaris platforms

HotJava for Solaris is available Solaris 2.5.1 and later on both the SPARC and Intel platforms.
